March Resource of the Month

This quarter, we’re exploring how to use neuroscience for wellbeing.

Our March Resource of the Month introduces a practical way to bring brain and nervous system science into everyday work routines.

This month we’re featuring Micro Practices for Brain and Nervous System Health at Work, a new resource developed by Wellbeing Think Tank to help employers support focus, resilience, and wellbeing through small changes in the workday.

Why We Love It

Workplace wellbeing conversations often focus on large programs or new initiatives. But neuroscience research increasingly shows that small moments of recovery throughout the day play an important role in supporting attention, stress regulation, and cognitive performance.

This resource focuses on practical “micro practices” that can be integrated naturally into the workday. Rather than requiring additional programs or time commitments, these practices can fit into existing workflows, meetings, and team routines.

For organizations looking for realistic ways to support brain health and sustainable performance, this resource offers a thoughtful starting point grounded in neuroscience and occupational health research.

How It Works

The guide introduces the concept of micro practices, short actions that typically take between 30 seconds and five minutes and can help interrupt cycles of stress and cognitive fatigue during the workday.

To help employers explore the concept, Wellbeing Think Tank created a free one-page overview that highlights examples of simple practices teams can experiment with during meetings, transitions between tasks, or moments of pause throughout the day.

For those interested in going deeper, Wellbeing Think Tank members can access the full employer guide inside the Community Resource Hub, which provides additional guidance, and the research that informed this resource.
